Romantic Argentina se detiene en el paisaje de la estatua de las Nereidas, de Lola Mora, mientras describe las maravillas arquitectónicas de la ciudad. Es ciertamente sorprendente ver todo tan nuevo, y no golpeado por los años como lo podemos ver ahora. Después de una descripción de la Plaza de Mayo, el documental se detiene también en la calle Florida, haciendo una comparación con París y sus tiendas "de última tecnología", y que curiosamente describe como la calle para hacer "compras baratas". Los tiempos han cambiado.
Otra curiosidad interesante: los lecheros que venden la leche directamente de la vaca a los transeúntes, quizás un método poco higiénico que hoy cuestionaríamos, pero que el documentalista elogia. Y finalmente, el propio Benito, el cuidador de palomas que habitó Plaza de Mayo con sus curiosas amigas. "En todo Buenos Aires, no hay niño que no conozca a Benito y sus palomas", dice el documental, y nos muestra cómo Benito las tiene tan amaestradas que puede tomarlas y pintarlas de todos los colores.
